I work for the Railroad at the port those pics are of a rail grinder unit. One amazing unit of machines used to reprofile the ball of the rail. A wild unit to see in operation it sounds like thunder and looks like a ball of fire you would think of it as a train coming from HELL!! In operation the the thing is covered in black dust from the grinding dust and heat
